From Lonely to Loved Song Collection
When my husband and I wed, I wanted to write a song that captured the history of our friendship through the years and the surprise we felt when we ended up dating years after meeting.
The summary of the song’s sentiment is that from the time I met him until now, I have always thought the world of him. He is truly a spectacular person.
The World of You
Back in eighty-nine
You were an up-and-coming leader
You were smart and funny
And you couldn’t be sweeter
I thought the world of you
From an acquaintance point of view
A year went passing by
And you became a housemate
Your Dana Carvey antics
Made me laugh until my side ached
I thought the world of you
From a sister’s point of view
CHORUS
Through the years, through the tears
You’ve been here all along
We didn’t know that love would grow
And bring me into the world of you
In the new millennium
You proved that you were handy
Working on my house
And suddenly eye candy
I thought the world of you
From a woman’s point of view
Leap to twenty-ten
When you became a neighbor
We made bananas foster
Your grilling was to savor
I thought the world of you
From a dreamer’s point of view
CHORUS
Here we are today
you’ve become my one and only
We say hello to love
goodbye to feeling lonely
I think the world of you
From a lover’s point of view
I think the world of you, Love*
From every point of view
*I actually said his name here, but in my book I keep his identify hidden until the last part of the book. So, I keep it hidden here as well!
